I was holding my phone,
When I fell asleep,
Like a doll that closes its eyes as it lays,
There wasn't a need to count sheep.
To stay awake past bedtime,
Is something I'd only do,
For the people I love,
And that includes you.
You were there for me in my lowest,
And took the heavy weight off my chest,
You saved me from self-destruction,
So, no, you were never a distraction.
But I dozed off,
While waiting for you to finish your stuff,
I guess I was tired from work that day,
I just wish it didn't end that way.
