Fate and Its Sense of Humor

Today  

I was reminded of you—  

by the songs,  

and all the little things  

we once talked about,  

shared,  

that magically appeared  

and played  

in the places I happened to be.

So I asked for signs:  

Should I check on you?

And the word  

that appeared on my feed  

as I scrolled was...  

"Don't."

I scrolled again  

and came across another post—  

a line that read,  

"Pretending you didn't see anything."

As if the universe answered

with a smirk.

I laughed,  

and shook my head.  

Because even though I asked for a sign,  

I was eager to take a peek.

But then I realized:  

If you wanted to,  

you would have.

So here I am,  

trying my best not to spy.  

You hate it when I pry.  

I swear—  

I won’t cry.

I've been hearing Your name
Quite a lot lately.
People call out to You,
Praying for their safety.

Lord, Lord, Lord,
No other word.
I would cry,
For I'm not ready to die.

Near or Far

And so I pledge to thee

Wherever you may be,

Even when it hurts...

I will still be here,

Supporting you from afar.

Lost in Space

A rocket launched

And drifted into space,

With the things I cherished

But longed to erase.

Photos of moments I held on to,

Those of your face.

It took me quite a while;

It was my slowest pace.

I counted the stars,

I counted the days,

Hoping the memories

Would slowly fade away.

But love, when true,

It won't stay at bay.

You can't stop a heart from loving,

You can't stop the mind from longing,

So, my love, here it stays,

While everything else is lost in space.
