My Day

You showed me the things you loved

And the ones you hated.

You lent me your ears and time.

It was your day, but it felt like mine.

You introduced and sang

Your favorite k-pop song.

We hung up at four in the morning,

Then saw you in person in the evening.

Even though it is tiring,

I am grateful for my job,

Everyday I am learning

How to manage a lab

A mom to ten,

Soon eleven,

Adults, not children,

Different generations,

Different values and priorities,

But I've gotta keep up

I'm proud of how patient I've become

And of how much I've grown

Proven and Tested

What is this that I feel?

Could it be that I love you still?

Days and months had gone by,

But you are still on my mind.

It's neither a simple admiration,

Nor is it an obsession,

Never a distraction,

But an inspiration

The reason I keep striving

To do better every day,

The reason I'm smiling,

And why I am on my way...

Chasing after my dreams

How I wish I hugged you back then

But only if consent was given,

I'm not gonna thank you,

You hate it when I do,

A Random Dream

In a quick afternoon nap,

I dreamt about him,

Filming a documentary,

In an asian country

He was driving, smiling

And laughing with the locals,

With a background music he produced himself

The kind you'd hear in reels

It was so random but it felt real

In that dream I was watching,

And couldn't stop crying,

But those were happy tears

Because even though we've parted ways

I'm still rooting for him

And wish him well

Tumblers

Oh, these tumblers,

I am neither a collector nor a hoarder,

But they all end up in the cupboard,

After a few months of use.

Maybe I am just lazy,

To wash them daily,

And carry them around,

Because I bring so much stuff to work.

And then a new cute tumbler

Suddenly appears,

Like a rare Pokémon,

Last one on the shelf,

Function, confirmed,

Price, considered,

Temperature stability, assured,

Design, admired.
